Can I apply for Medicare in person?

Yes, you can. However, you'll need to visit a local Social Security office to do so. Keep in mind that you must first apply for Original Medicare before enrolling in an Advantage or Supplemental Plan.

When should I apply for Medicare?

Are there penalties for enrolling late?

Yes! If you don't enroll in Part B coverage during your Initial Enrollment Period, you could face premium penalties for as long as you have Medicare coverage.

When do I get my Medicare card?

Typically, you'll receive your Medicare card around 3 weeks after you apply.
